Misuse of API keys: Zero tolerance policy at ipoalerts

Recently, we identified a severe case of misuse involving the creation of multiple API keys across several accounts by the same individual. This type of activity is strictly prohibited, as it directly violates our Terms of Service and creates an unfair advantage over other users, disrupting the platform’s fairness and performance.
What happened?
Upon routine checks, we discovered that a particular user had bypassed our fair usage policy by creating several accounts, and hence multiple API keys. This behavior goes against the principles of transparency and responsible usage we uphold at ipoalerts. After confirming these violations, we banned the user and deactivated all associated API keys without delay.
Our stance: Zero tolerance for abuse
We want to make it unequivocally clear that any form of misuse or abuse of our platform, including but not limited to:
- Creating multiple API keys through multiple accounts.
- Attempting to manipulate access limits to gain an unfair advantage.
- Engaging in any activity that compromises the fairness or integrity of our service.
Will not be tolerated under any circumstances.
Users found engaging in such practices will be banned immediately and all associated API keys will be revoked without prior warning. This is necessary to protect the platform, maintain the quality of our service, and ensure a level playing field for all users.
